I have a few more paintings of the Myakka River in the works. If you are ever in SW Florida it’s definitely worth a trip. I hope to do a lot more landscape paintings. If you have a favorite nature spot in SW Florida you’d like to see a painting of, let me know.

For the blog Different Strokes from Different Folks, participants were given photos of each other to paint. When I paint from life I usually replicate the color I see. When I paint from photographs I have the same tendency but it doesn’t always work as well. If I were to paint this same picture again, I think I would make the skin a bit darker. It was a fun, though.

I’ve never been to Rehoboth Beach. In fact, I didn’t even know where it was until after I painted it (it’s in Delaware). This is a painting I created for Karin Jurick’s new blog “Different Strokes from Different Folks.” Karin is a great artist and her success on eBay is a real inspiration to me. On her newest blog she posts a weekly photo and invites anyone to submit a painting inspired by the photo.
